My 12 week Journey
I saw an advert advertising Go Girl Physique giving away what I thought was too good to be true! A 12 week challenge with a personal trainer every day and dietary input. I spoke to my partner and said well I'm going to enter but I doubt it I'll win. So I went in for an interview and Carolyn asked me why I wanted to do the challenge and how many times could I commit to coming to the gym. I instantly thought 'ohh hell how am I going to fit this into my already crazy busy life. I came home and spoke to Foi and he said he would support me and really wanted me to something for myself.
One Friday evening we were sitting on the couch and my phone rang and on the other end was Lizelle. She had rang to tell me that I was one of three that had been selected to do the 12 week challenge! I was really excited but also actually really scared and nervous of how I would go. That was the last weekend of eating anything naughty.
I vividly remember my first week Carolyn told me by the end of the first week I would complete 100 crunches! I could hardly do 10! But sure enough by the end of week 1 I was doing it. I set myself a few personal goals 1 of them was to be able to run comfortably. I completed this by week 6 and was running for 5 minute periods with 1 minute walk. I felt really stoked. Weeks went by and at times I was struggling to pick up my kids and bend down from pushing myself with weights. It's a great feeling knowing that you have worked hard. Because I never knew my weight losses over the weeks at weigh ins I had no indication of how I was going until clothes began fitting better and even getting loose. I changed my family's diet to suit and have continued with the same. I find things are more filling now and enjoy less of a treat instead of a lot of it. I am still feeding my baby but he eats 3 meals a day so he doesn't miss out on anything. I know I still have along way to go to reach the magic number I have in my head but I'm very happy with what I have achieved through out the past 12 weeks. I've met inspirational ladies that have come so far and enjoy the stories they share about their challenges and weight loss. Being a health professional I feel more comfortable in my body not carrying so much weight and eating better. They say practice what you preach and I can finally say I do now! I am so thankful for this amazing transformation and opportunity. I am so lucky to have great support from Foi ,mum and dad for looking after my children.
A huge thanks to Lizelle for this amazing opportunity that she has funded. Lastly I am so lucky to have had a truely inspirational trainer over these 12 weeks. Carolyn has given her all to help me achieve my goals, even if it meant giving up her personal time to fit in my work outs.
