Weight Gain or Plateau?

Hitting a weight loss plateau can be frustrating, but rest assured, here at Go Girl Physique we accept that this is a reality for many of our members, and it’s nothing to get upset about.

This is where the support of our qualified trainers really kicks in. Our team has a variety of strategies you can try to help you break through it.

We would like to share with you a few suggestions that have made a difference for our Warrior Goddess ladies to assist them in achieving their goals.

Evaluate your calorie intake.

Review your current calorie consumption. As you lose weight, your body needs fewer calories to function. Ensure you’re consuming an appropriate number of calories for your current weight and activity level.

Mix up your exercise routine:

This is one of the huge advantages of the Warriror Goddess program – we mix up the exercises not only to keep working out interesting but also to challenge every muscle in your body without repeatedly working on the same muscle group. This could be a handy tip for our regular members. Do mix it up if you’ve been doing the same exercises for a while; your body may have adapted to the routine. Try incorporating new exercises or increasing the intensity of your workouts to challenge your muscles and boost your metabolism.

Increase physical activity:

Look for opportunities to increase your daily activity level. Take the stairs instead of an elevator, walk or bike instead of driving short distances, and get into some serious gardening or spring cleaning of the house! or consider adding some extra movement breaks throughout the day.

Monitor portion sizes

Even healthy foods can contribute to weight loss plateaus if you’re consuming them in excess. Keep an eye on your portion sizes and practice mindful eating. Consider using smaller plates or check out our trusted weight loss recipes. Get back to the basics and begin measuring your food again to ensure you’re not overeating.

Ensure you’re getting enough sleep:

Lack of sleep can affect your body’s metabolism and hormone regulation, potentially leading to weight loss plateaus. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night.

Manage stress:

Everyone has stress in their lives at various levels and times. Click on this link from The Medical News today  – It has been proven that high stress levels can hinder weight loss progress. Find activities that help you relax and reduce stress, such as meditation and yoga at Go Girl Physique, engaging in hobbies you enjoy, or trying a walk along the beach, which we are all very handy to here in Timaru.
